Germany Hotels and Resorts - As Europe's largest economy and most populous nation, Germany remains a key member of the continent's economic, political, and defense organizations. European power struggles immersed Germany in two devastating World Wars in the first half of the 20th century and left the country occupied by the victorious Allied powers of the US, UK, France, and the Soviet Union in 1945. With the advent of the Cold War, two German states were formed in 1949: the western Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and the eastern German Democratic Republic (GDR). The democratic FRG embedded itself in key Western economic and security organizations, the EC, which became the EU, and NATO, while the Communist GDR was on the front line of the Soviet-led Warsaw Pact. The decline of the USSR and the end of the Cold War allowed for German unification in 1990. Since then, Germany has expended considerable funds to bring Eastern productivity and wages up to Western standards. In January 1999, Germany and 10 other EU countries introduced a common European exchange currency, the euro.

ACCOMMODATION: Our 87 rooms, including 13 suite rooms are air-conditioned and soundproof. The rooms are equipped with minibar, cable TV, Pay-TV, highspeed internet access, hair-dryer, make-up mirror in the bathroom. We recognise that in order to maintain our high standards, we have to continue striving for perfection. Which means for a grand hotel such as the Königshof to provide guests, apart from a wide range of new service facilities, with even more comfort and luxury. Thus the recently renovated rooms and suite rooms are a token of good old tradition. As long as everybody is happy, this will not change. Welcome to lunch or to dinner. The hotelbar : Come to our cocktail lounge where our well trained bar tender will fulfill almost every cocktail wishes. Our meeting rooms would suit congresses and conferences as well as private parties like weddings: 4 Banquet rooms with daylight for 4 to 100 persons. The conference rooms ("Königshof-Salons") are to be found on the first floor and offer up to 120 sqm, and can also be divided in rooms of 60 sqm ("Amalien-Salon"), of 32 sqm ("Sophien-Salon"), and of 28 sqm ("Theresien-Salon"). Next to the restaurant, you will find the "Carolinen-Salon" offering a size of 43 sqm. For meetings in separate rooms, you may wish to use our"Luisen-Salon". You will have a beautiful view over the "Stachus" and the Palace of Justice. For coffee breaks and cocktail parties, we offer you the possibility to use our hotel bar and our lounge. If you decide to invite many guests, we will be pleased to reserve a separate area of our hotel hall.
