HOTEL FACILITIES : The hotels masculine decoration features streamlined wood furniture, earth-toned bedspreads and draperies, and a big old Chippendale sofa in the lobby, so the hotel would benefit by some of the carpets and ceramics sold aggressively in the shop next door. Otherwise, the hotel is all pluses, from the faux antique marble and ceramic vanity console in the bathroom to the unbeatable terrace views. The three suites and one of the deluxe rooms are outfitted with a Jacuzzi (the rest just have oversize tubs), and all rooms on the third floor have a balcony (wraparound in the suites). The only caveat is that the management also runs the carpet store downstairs, and as a guest of the hotel, you're practically a captive audience.
